(This page is about historical matters concerning the Scottish town called "Wigtoun" in the Scots language and now known as Wigtown. The name of the town was changed in the middle 1800's from "Wigton" to "Wigtown" in order to prevent confusion with the town by the same name in Cumbria, England. (See Wikipedia:Wigton))
